Hi, my name is Liam. I’m a 30 something year old, single Dad to my little girl called Alice.
I would say that I’m quite an emotional and affectionate guy but sometimes come across as a
grump. I choose my friends carefully but love spending time with them when I can. I am most
comfortable living an alternative lifestyle in all aspects of my life. I don’t like following what society
considers being the ‘norm’.
I take an active interest in Politics and current events and enjoy a good civilized debate. My other
interests include photography, making and editing videos for YouTube and being out in nature.
My life before vanlife was quite mundane and not very exciting. I was like most people my age. I had
a partner, I lived in quite a large house, I had lots of ‘things’, but was never really happy.
After my relationship broke down, I took the opportunity to grab life by both hands and live the way
I wanted to live. So, I moved into my first van full time. That was around 18 months ago now and I’ve
never looked back.
I love living in my van. For a while I also lived in a boat, which was fun! Living this alternative
lifestyle, gives me the freedom which I crave for. I’m in total control of where I go and what I do and
don’t have to answer to anyone. I don’t have to pay bills, mortgage or rent fees or be tied down to
one place. I only pay for fuel food and upkeep of my van. With the housing crisis of today, this makes
a massive difference and saves me a lot of money.
So, one of the things I like to do most is to record my life and adventures on YouTube. I have a few
reasons why I do this. For one, I just like doing it. I enjoy making videos immensely and from the help
of social media and the vanlife scene, I have met so many wonderful people along the way.
Secondly, I like that I am keeping a record of my life. I would like to look back at my videos when I’m
older and remember all the good times I have had. Thirdly, I love to make memories with my
daughter and the adventures we share together. I hope that one day, she can also look back and see
how much I love her and enjoy being with her.
